Megan and I went to Charleston this past weekend for a quick 24 hours to plan and talk about our goals for 2025! Megan went to The College of Charleston so she always has the best recommendations and places for us to try when we are there!
It was quick and productive but we packed in as much as we could, which included as many restaurants as we could!
We left Charlotte around 9 to get there in time for a lunch at Leon's - we split the Siam Salad (my new favorite!!), Brussel Sprouts and Oysters of course!
We went to check in to Hotel Emeline
it was our first time staying here. It had a lot of common area including a cute restaurant and coffee shop which isn't always the case in Charleston! We both also love the Loutrel, The Restoration, The Dewberry, The Spectator and want to try The Pinch the next time we are in town!
Next we did some shopping on King Street!! There are so many great options on King Street but there are also a few on East Bay (and some phenomenal art galleries!) and of course the Market, although it is a bit more tourist focused.
We stopped for a cup of coffee at the Coffee Shop at the Restoration!
Then we headed to Felix for a glass of wine, a snack and a major brainstorming session with a side of the Long Puffy Heart Necklace!
Next up and next door is The Ordinary - one of Megan's favorite bites in town is the Oyster Slider (now I know why!) and their crudo is always great!
The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and finished up our planning before heading back to Charlotte! Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery to get the ideas flowing and we did just that!
Below are just a *few* of Megan's favorites she wished we had time for...
Vern's and Chubby Fish are on her must list! And the tasting menu at Zero George, where we stayed back in April is phenomenal!
Circe's Grotto has THE best sandwiches ever. It’s also kind of on the edge of campus so you can walk through and take a peak!
Rooftops... Market Pavilion for the view! The Citrus Club is on top of the Dewberry Hotel, and the Watch at the top of the Restoration Hotel.
The Rarebit and Park & Grove (formerly known as Park Cafe) were two of her go-to brunch spots. While Queen Street Grocery has the best breakfast sandwiches and of course you always need to stop at Callie's for a biscuit!
Harken Cafe and Babas are coffee shops with delicious pastries!
Xiao Bao Biscuit, Leon's, Chez Nous, Pink Bellies, Edmund's Oast, Rodney Scotts, Lewis Barbeque, Rancho Lewis, Hometeam BBQ, Costa, Sorelle, are all honorable mentions!
If you head towards Sullivan's Island, Poe's, Co-op, Sullivan's Fish Camp, and Obstinate Daughter are musts!
If Folly is more your vibe, Chico Feo, Jack of Cups, Lowlife, and Pier 101 for the view!
There are so many more where that came from, so if you ever need any ideas, let us know!! Adventure awaits!
xoxo
