Eleanor Scott, the editor of Skirt Magazine, called me a few months ago and told me that they were doing a feature on women who started on a career path and decided to follow their passion, instead. As many of you know, I graduated from University of Virginia with a Masters in Teaching and a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art. I taught school in Charlottesville for two years (coming home after school and designing jewelry till all hours of the night) & realized that my real passion lies in jewelry design. I decided it’s now or never….go for it & go for it with all my heart. Although I’ve never worked harder in my life, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I am so lucky to wake up in the morning, dance a few steps across the hall into my jewelry studio, turn on some music, take out my tools, and get to work.
