Sunday Night Inspiration List

  • Shooting Stars
  • Finishing cleaning all the dishes at night so you wake up to a clean kitchen.
  • Old class photos from Elementary School.
  • Easter egg hunts
  • The last bite of the ice cream cone when the inside of the cone is a little soggy with ice cream.
  • Remembering sitting in the back seat of the car with my sister and getting so excited when we’d go through a car wash.
  • A pen with a strong spring so it makes really good “click” sounds.
  • Looking through old photo albums of my parents and seeing the little black corners around each photo.

Sunday Night Inspiration List

  • The way your skin feels after your wash off a face mask.
  • The smell of freshly brewed coffee when you wake up in the morning.
  • An old pair of familiar sweats that have been with you for years.
  • Finally pressing down on the gas after you’ve been in traffic for over an hour.
  • Getting out a knot from a necklace chain.
  • Finishing something that you’ve been procrastinating about because you though it would take hours, but it ended up taking 10 minutes.
  • Stores that have food samples.

 

The Move…

Oh my my…thank you for sticking by my side during these past few days of my blogging absence. I’ve been thinking about all of you! Truth is, we’ve been on the move (literally). We bought a new home in Charlotte and we moved in the past weekend. I didn’t realize the whirlwind that it would be an I’m determined not to live out of cardboard boxes and eat on paper plates for the next month. My mom and aunt (angels sent from heaven) came down to  get us organized this sweet little casa is starting to get a personality!  I’ve been making jewelry on the kitchen floor for the past 4 days, but set up my studio/showroom this morning and it’s really coming along.  I’ll post more pics soon, but wanted to share a few. The first two photos are of our family floor picnic and the others are shot of my beads and stones set up in my studio.

Sunday Night Inspiration List

  • Adding newly discovered songs to your ipod.
  • Waking up late on the weekend and realizing that there are delicious leftovers in the fridge.
  • When the wait at a restaurant is much shorter than the hostess tells you that it will be.
  • Spotting your luggage when it comes out of the baggage claim after you think that it might be lost.
  • Reading old journals.
  • Cutting wrapping paper and instead of having to make each cut, the scissors just glide along the paper smoothly.
  • Peeling an eggshell or orange peel off in one piece.
  • The second of silence when it’s pouring rain outside and you drive under a bridge or another road.

  • Having plans for the evening on the day that you get your hair cut.
  • A “thank you” wave from another driver.
  • Remembering days in middle school when you’d finish your homework in class.
  • Talking with a friend on the phone after months of playing “phone tag” and feeling like nothing has changed.
  • Driving into a city and seeing the city skyline.
  • Crawling back into bed when the sheets are still warm.
  • A new recipe that turns out just like you had hoped.
  • Freezing cold hands around a hot cup of coffee.
  • Changing into dry clothes after you’ve been soaked by the rain.

Sunday Night Inspiration List

  • Backless dresses
  • Watching your all time favorite movie with someone who hasn’t seen it and watching their face right before the really good parts
  • Staying in a new hotel and loving the bath products
  • When a band comes out for an encore and plays the one song that you’ve been waiting fro the entire concert
  • The smell of home-made granola baking in the oven
  • Grabbing the bottom of a tupperware set and finding the top to match it perfectly
  • Being taken care of when your sick and taking care of someone you love when their sick
  • Dropping an entire bag of groceries when you’re taking them out of the car and realizing the eggs weren’t in that bag
  • Bets that are kept
  • Sharing a cinnamon roll and being the one who gets the core

  • Roasted veggies.
  • The Full Harvest Moon
  • Going to my grandmother’s house as a child and always leaving with a pocketful of Werthers Toffees.
  • Snacking on Frozen green grapes and miniature peppermint patties.
  • Sitting on a curb in a new city and listening to street musicians.
  • The moment when whipping cream actually turns into whipped cream.
  • Pulling into a parking space and realizing that you’re able to pull through to the space directly across it.
  • Being kissed on the forehead by my husband.
  • Watching kids make faces at monkeys in the zoo.
  • Driving through a neighborhood and seeing leftover chalk on the driveway from a game of hopscotch.
  • The word: Pipsqueak

Sunday Night Inspiration List

  • The smell of cut grass and the smell of trees after a rainstorm.
  • Lazy days when you’re perfectly content with being unproductive.
  • Falling asleep to the sound of rain hitting my bedroom window and roof.
  • The smell of opening a new box of crayons and remember my days in elementary school.
  • Thinking that you’ll have to spend the whole day shopping for something that you’re looking for & spotting what you need within the first 20 minutes.
  • Seeing the veins of a lightening bolt in the distance and knowing you’re in a safe place.
  • The blooms from a Dogwood Tree.
  • Popping “ready to pop” zits – I know it’s gross and you shouldn’t do it, but I just can’t stop myself.
  • Having my hair washed by someone who gives a really good scalp massage before having it cut.

 

Sunday Inspiration list

*Finding a little bit of green on a ruffles potato chip.

*Getting holiday cards in the mail with photos of friends and family you haven’t seen in a while.

*The music from Super Mario Brothers on old school Nintendo.

*Finally finding your favorite lost sock and knowing exactly where the other one is.

*Chai tea with made with soymilk.

*Oyster roasts.

*Coo coo clocks and pocket watches.

*Stepping through the hard layer of sand on the beach and hearing it crunch beneath your feet.

*Rolling the glue off the back of a new credit card.

  • Having a fully charged phone and full tank of gas.
  • Having no line at airport security and being able to walk right through.
  • The sound and smell of fajitas arriving at your table.
  • The moment when your parents take the training wheels off your bicycle and you learn to ride with just TWO wheels!
  • Changing your toothbrush.
  • Looking for a golden ticket in every candy bar I opened when I was a kid.
  • Hearing my husband laugh in his sleep.
  • Grabbing a tissue just before you sneeze.
  • Eating your favorite meal after  a cold and being able to actually taste it.

 

Sunday NIght List

  • Standing ovations.
  • Picking between two pieces of chocolate from a box of assorted chocolates, biting into the middle, and finding out that it’s the one you wanted.
  • The thin strings of hot marshmallow that appear when you’re making rice krispie treats.
  • Invigorating nightly walks during the winter time.
  • Finding a ladybug crawling in an unexpected place.
  • Cold milk and chocolate cake.
  • Taking the price tag off of something in one big peel and not leaving any glue behind.
  • Taking out your ponytail after a really long day.
  • Picking up your cell phone after you drop it and realizing that it’s alright.
  • Happily ever after.

  • Flipping an over-easy egg perfectly in the frying pan and not breaking the yolk.
  • Couch cushion forts.
  • Finding out that there is money left in the parking meter  in the space where you are about to park your car.
  • Hearing the dentist say that you have no cavities (no matter how old you are, it’s always so nice to hear).
  • Putting extra crunchy potato chips inside my sandwich at lunch.
  • Watching kids slurp sugary colored milk from a cereal bowl left over from a bowl of Lucky Charms.
  • Sitting on the booth side at a table in a restaurant.
  • Taking off your high heels after a really long night and walking home barefoot.
  • Finally getting out a small aggravating knot from a necklace chain.
  • Fitting everything in the dishwasher perfectly.
  • Traveling with friends and laughing at everyone’s passport photos.

  • Thinking about how far you’ve come from your first job (mine was an ice cream scooper at Baskin Robbins in Colonial Williamsburg).
  • Listening to a graduation speech that really rings a bell with you.
  • Movie previews.
  • Finding a pen in your purse when you need to fill out a form.
  • When someone pulls up to you at a stoplight and asks for directions and you know exactly how to get them there.
  • Walking through the neighborhood and seeing lit and decorated Christmas trees through the windows.
  • An older couple holding hands underneath their table at a restaurant.

  • Picking out the perfect tortilla chip with just the perfect amount of all the fixings off a plate of nachos.
  • Deferring to rock-paper-scissors to settle a dispute.
  • Using shampoos and conditioners that you’ve never tried before in a friend’s shower.
  • When you’re waiting in a long check-out line in the grocery store and another cashier opens up a new lane and you’re the first one in it.
  • Perfectly parking in a parallel parking space on your first try.
  • Gently blowing the one eyelash off your finger and making a wish.
  • The smell in an old-fashioned bakery.
  • Wondering how many people used to blow into the cartridges of their Nintendo games when they wouldn’t work.
  • Talking about how much money the dinner that you made at home would cost in a restaurant.
  • When your hiccups finally stop.

  • The core of a cinnamon roll.
  • The moment the lights dim at the movie theater.
  • Sitting in the warm spot where your pet was sleeping.
  • Remembering how exciting it was to go fast over speed bumps in the back of a school bus.
  • The look on someone’s face when the realize they are on the big screen at a game.
  • Making the right amount of spaghetti.
  • When everything your cooking gets done at the same time.
  • When a stranger returns your wallet.
  • When it’s sunny and rainy at the same time.
  • Sliding your feet into warm flip flops after have been sitting in the sun.
  • When you find that spot on your dog that makes its leg go crazy.

  • Meeting someone you instantly connect with.
  • Waking up on vacation and for that split second wondering where you are (only to realize that you’re on vacation).

  • When you decide to go through the yellow light and the guy behind you goes too.
  • Slipping into newly washed sheets….so clean and crisp.
  • Finishing what you started.
  •  Popping bubblewrap.
  • Teaching someone how to skip stones & watching the expression on their face when they finally do it.
  • Hitting all the green lights in a row when you’re in a rush to get somewhere.
  • Getting a second drink from a vending machine for free.
  • Dipping french fries in a Wendy’s frosty.
  • Asking someone in front of you if they are in line and they are not.

  • Finding chapstick, a pen, reading glasses or a few pennies at the bottom of your purse at the exact time that you need them.

Sunday Inspiration List

These were a few inspirations from my past weekend in California with 3 of my best girlfriends from college.

-The perfect combination of muddled lime and mint in a mojito.

-A mix of prosciutto, salami, spicy mustard, mercato almonds, cornichons, sea salt crackers and cheese.

-White washed wooden tables and frames.

-Trying to catch the green flash after a sunset.

-The drive along the Californian coast up to Santa Barbara.

-Remembering that the best things in life are free.

-Retelling old stories with friends and laughing until we’re breathless.

-Aimlessly driving, walking, exploring and seeing where the day takes us.

-Waking up to the Pacific Ocean and drinking a hot cup of coffee along the beach.
