beautiful bride

Jennifer McDaniel Downs was quite a sight on her wedding day….just beaming from head to toe.   I was so happy that she chose to wear the Courtney Necklace and the Mary-Grace Earrings to accessorize her dress. Photographer, Meg Runion, captured these beautiful moments.

Broach Necklace

I recently finished  this custom necklace for a Matron-of-Honor. The bride wanted to have a special piece of jewelry designed for her sister that stood out but blended well with the other jewelry in the wedding. She found this vintage broach on Ebay and sent it to me to design a unique statement piece .

Ashley and Kyle celebrate!

Ashley and Kyle were married this summer in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Photography Studios captured the moments of the wedding in these gorgeous photos.  For herself,  Ashley chose the Jane Garnet Earrings and a custom freshwater pearl and sterling silver necklace. The bridesmaids wore the Iceland Earrings with their rose-colored dresses and for other attendants,  a twist off the Whitney Earrings were designed to and called the Purcell Earrings.

Jennifer and Chanan!

I loved looking through the photos from this Charleston wedding especially because Jennifer asked for me to design a different pair of earrings for each of her bridesmaids! She knew that she wanted all ten pairs to have  a similar look and to stick with a color scheme including ivory, gold and pearl but the rest was up to me! It was so much fun to blend together designs so that each pair was special for each girl.   Photographer, Carmen Ash captured the joy and love throughout the day in these awesome photos.

Traci and Tripp tie the knot in Blowing Rock

Traci and Tripp were married a few weeks ago at Chetola Mountain Resort in Blowing Rock, NC.  I met Traci when I first moved to Charlotte and allow me to tell you…this chica has got S.T.Y.L.E.  She’s one of those girls who’s not afraid to take fashion risks and when she does, it just seems to work.  When she got engaged, she came to me and told me that she had this idea of having me design broaches for each of her  bridesmaids.  She thought it would be cool to use the vintage mesh from the Cannes Necklace and use that as the base of each broach.  Then, add some pearls, stones, gemstones and glass to each broach to give it a totally different effect.   I was up for the challenge. I came up with these broaches and the girls were able to attach them on their bridesmaids dresses during the reception. Afterward, they can wear them with a black tank top or cocktail dress.  Every little detail from Traci and Tripp’s wedding was amazing!  I’m totally in love with her idea of the lock & key guest book.  Traci also rocked it out wearing the Jane Garnet Earrings with her wedding dress.  Congrats you two!

Nicole and Matt

A huge congrats to Nicole and Matt who were married a few weeks ago at St. Judes in Redmond with a reception following the wedding at The Hollywood Schoolhouse.  Amelia Soper was the photographer who captured every bit of the wedding beautifully.   I love how Nicole decided to mix the blue dresses with shades of coral. She chose the  Nadine Earrings for her bridesmaids to wear on her special day.

Kathryn and Adair!

I had a blast designing jewelry for Kathryn’s wedding party and for the lovely bride, herself! Kathryn chose the classic and unique Jane Garnet Earrings for herself, the Kate Earrings for her ten bridesmaids and the Solitary Necklace for her three precious flower girls.   I just love the way that everything came together so perfectly!  Photographer, Sarah Cramer did an amazing job capturing the excitement and beauty of the day!

Heather and Harris

Harris proposed, Heather said, “Yes,” they both said, “I do,” and the rest is history!  Heather and Harris were married on a mountaintop in Virginia, and afterward, joined friends and family at a reception that fit Heather’s personality to a tee ! Dani Antol (the other co-owner of Rock Paper Scissors and one of Heather’s best buds) designed all the invitations and I was lucky enough to design Heathers’ custom earrings. Susan Kalergis captured the fabulous-ness of the celebration through her gorgeous photos.

Congrats to Lisa Dabney Burrows and Jeb Burrows who were married  in Cape Cod, MA last summer.  Lisa chose a custom-made pair of gold teardrops with tiny freshwater pearls hand-wrapped around the gold loop for her 10 bridesmaids to wear during the day.

Blair & Adam at King Family Vineyards

Blair and Adam had a picture perfect wedding at the UVA Chapel and reception at King Family Vineyards.  Kate Fitzgerald from “I Do Details” did a fantastic job coordinating the event and  photographer, Jack Looney, captured every moment.  The girls wore the Dakota Earrings and matched them with a lovely string of pearls.

Rhea and Jonathan married in Puerto Rico

Rhea and Jonathan were married in Puerto Rico early this month and from the looks of it, the day was incredible.  I loved working with Rhea to transform a strand of her grandmothers’ pearls to create a custom bracelet for her to wear on her wedding day.  Rhea also wore the Caroline Earrings to complete her look.

Cicely and Jesse…wedding bliss

In three words you could describe Cicely and Jesse’s wedding at the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, VA as simple, classic, and perfect!   Photographer, Tom Daly, captured the essence of their love beautifully. I especially enjoyed working with Cicely to design custom gold leaf cufflinks for her husband to play on their theme, “all things fall” in Charlottesville.  Cicely looks stunning in the Joyful Teardrop earrings and Eva necklace.  Simply stunning.

Hilton Head Wedding

Congrats to Mollie & Brian!  They were married in Hilton Head and Mollie chose this custom design for her wedding day .  She described her wedding in these words, “The wedding colors are sea-glass green and blues. The flowers are hydrangeas (white and pale green) and delphinium in blue. There will be white coral and giant green palms. Its very natural with a burst of color from the blues and greens.”  I tried to capture the  look and feel of her wedding with these earrings.

Something old…

When a bride recently asked me to transform an plain strand of her grandmothers’ pearls into a custom chunky bracelet, I thought this was the perfect idea for her “something old” on her wedding day.  I added some seed beads, silver, ice quartz, a dash of this and a pinch of that & this was the final outcome…

Solitary Bracelet

It is said that the freshwater pearl enables someone to accept love and to help one see the good parts of themselves so that they can love themselves and love others. There is something about a single freshwater pearl that I gravitate towards. It’s peaceful and restful and the Solitary Bracelet reminds us of this.  A simple white freshwater coin pearl hangs delicately off a sterling silver chain.
