Congratulations to Maria Kosut and Ryan Gall. They are getting married New Year’s Eve & I was so excited to design Marias’ bridesmaids jewelry. Maria wanted something
substantial, but a piece of jewelry that would also maintain a delicate look. Maria and Ryan are planning on using lot of golds, creams, blushes, and champagnes (and candlelight!) to create a very warm feeling. Here are a few samples of jewelry that I designed for Marias’ girls. I’m looking forward to see what necklace she chooses for her five bridesmaids.

new ideas…
The idea of the disc necklace began with a request from a friend to design a piece of jewelry to have in remembrance of Matthew Mullin. The three phrases engraved into the disc were, “live well, laugh often, love much.” Since then, I have received hundreds of requests for personalized engraving…dates of marriage, dates of birthdays, places, life mottos, colors, & initials. I’m even beginning to add stones to the necklace along with the discs. If you would like to order a sterling siver disc necklace, please go to the “treasure chest” on my website and click on the image labeled, “Silver Initial Disc Necklace.” The image shows three discs, but I can make as little as one..the price is still the same…58.00. Then, send me a message (under contact) or e-mail me at erin@erinmcdermott.com and tell me what you would like engraved into the discs. Enjoy…

Perfect for bridesmaids…these smoky quartz, sterling silver and silvery iridescent freshwater pearl earrings work perfectly with any color and add depth and originality to any dress. A sure bet.

Barefoot on the Beach
I can’t wait to see the photos of my bride who was married on the shore of Cooper’s Beach…barefoot and wearing a set of Erin McDermott jewelry…copper freshwater pearl, white freshwater pearls, amazonite, and gold. Simply beautiful.

Red Ruby Wine
I wanted to share a few bridal pieces with everyone. The bridesmaids in this wedding will be wearing gold shoes and crimson red dresses. The earrings are inspired by my Red Ruby Wine earrings.

Strawberry Quartz, Gold, Freshwater Pearl
I just finished designing 9 custom earrings and 9 bracelets for Lyndsay Smoaks’ bridesmaids. I think that the strawberry quartz, gold, and freshwater pearls will look beautiful with the flowers and sweet hair pins Lyndsay picked. After the wedding, the jewelry can be worn everyday. Let me know if you’d like me to design for your wedding or for an engagement party. It’s a great gift and can always be used after the wedding.

Wedding Jewelry by Erin McDermott
Erin McDermott, of Charlottesville, Virginia is one of the new wave of jewelry designers who, because of the internet is able to reside in the artsy, creative community that inspires her and nevertheless maintain a vibrant national presence. In addition to her line of funky everyday wear her wedding jewelry is gaining broad attention. Why? Because she personally designs and crafts each piece, so no two are exactly alike. However each member of the wedding party wears a piece that is clearly related by color and design those pieces worn by the other members of the party. Moreover, the bride and the maid of honor are adorned with pieces that show a little extra flair, while perfectly harmonizing with the bridesmaids.
After the wedding Erin’s pieces are treasured because they can be worn, not only with cocktail dresses and formal wear, but with jeans and a tee shirt as well for a casual, yet sexy mix. Because she takes great care of packaging her orders in natural and attractive “green” materials each necklace or earring arrives as a welcome and tantalizing gift.
Ladies in Red…
I had such a great time designing bridal jewelry for Ashey & Mike’s wedding in Keswick, Virginia. She wanted the jewelry to be classy and sophisticated, yet unique and timeless. Ashley also wanted to make sure that the girls could wear the jewelry after the wedding. She chose a mixture of freshwater pearls. Each necklace and earring set was different, but they all blended together to create just the right balance. Here are a few pictures from the day…
