One more day in Aruba

We’re having a great time in Aruba and I can’t believe we only have one day left! We’ve been climbing on coral rock, eating fresh local seafood, swimming in the ocean, and of course soaking up the sun.  On our hike yesterday, we climbed up Crystal Rock and I found lots of cool pieces of crystal that I’m going to try to use in some jewelry!

Aruba

Hi there! I’m typically blogging from Charlotte, NC but this post is coming straight from Aruba.  For the past 4 years, I have taken a “girls trip”  with my mom, my aunt, and my sister. It’s one of the highlights of the year, and gives us a chance to catch up and enjoy one another. We arrived last night and and I woke up to this view! Off to the beach…

*All orders placed this week will be shipped next Tuesday. Thanks!

Sunday in Asheville!

Happy Friday! If you find yourself looking for something to do on Sunday, head on over to Asheville and come visit me at The Big Crafty!   I”ll be at Pack Place and I’ll have lots of new jewelry designs to show you.  I’ll also be surrounded by some awesome Indie Artists and 100′s of crafters.  This is my second year participating in the event and I can assure you it’s a good one!

Jennifer and Chanan!

I loved looking through the photos from this Charleston wedding especially because Jennifer asked for me to design a different pair of earrings for each of her bridesmaids! She knew that she wanted all ten pairs to have  a similar look and to stick with a color scheme including ivory, gold and pearl but the rest was up to me! It was so much fun to blend together designs so that each pair was special for each girl.   Photographer, Carmen Ash captured the joy and love throughout the day in these awesome photos.

Gold Knot Bracelets

I’ve been working on these 8 custom gold knot bracelets for a group of bridesmaids and just finished up this morning!   The bride, (shhhh…I can’t say who until she’s married in a few weeks) wanted to give each of her girls a unique gold bracelet with a knot in the middle symbolizing their friendship, unity, and of course, the day that she’s “tying the knot.”

I took a few photos of the process of making each one.

Traci and Tripp tie the knot in Blowing Rock

Traci and Tripp were married a few weeks ago at Chetola Mountain Resort in Blowing Rock, NC.  I met Traci when I first moved to Charlotte and allow me to tell you…this chica has got S.T.Y.L.E.  She’s one of those girls who’s not afraid to take fashion risks and when she does, it just seems to work.  When she got engaged, she came to me and told me that she had this idea of having me design broaches for each of her  bridesmaids.  She thought it would be cool to use the vintage mesh from the Cannes Necklace and use that as the base of each broach.  Then, add some pearls, stones, gemstones and glass to each broach to give it a totally different effect.   I was up for the challenge. I came up with these broaches and the girls were able to attach them on their bridesmaids dresses during the reception. Afterward, they can wear them with a black tank top or cocktail dress.  Every little detail from Traci and Tripp’s wedding was amazing!  I’m totally in love with her idea of the lock & key guest book.  Traci also rocked it out wearing the Jane Garnet Earrings with her wedding dress.  Congrats you two!

Nicole and Matt

A huge congrats to Nicole and Matt who were married a few weeks ago at St. Judes in Redmond with a reception following the wedding at The Hollywood Schoolhouse.  Amelia Soper was the photographer who captured every bit of the wedding beautifully.   I love how Nicole decided to mix the blue dresses with shades of coral. She chose the  Nadine Earrings for her bridesmaids to wear on her special day.

chocolate chip loveliness.

My dear. Who doesn’t love anything that mixes  gooey chocolate chip cookies, quaint little ramekins and vanilla icecream?  I saw this recipe on one of my favorite blogs and just knew that this would be the dessert I would be exciting my taste buds with this evening.  It’s called the “Pizookie” and is a combination of chocolate chunk cookie baked in a Chicago Pizza-like style. You can find the recipe, here.  Not only is this going to be so yummy and delicious, but my kitchen is going to smell like a domestic goddess lives there.

So excited for the Vintage Skeleton Key necklace to be featured in Charlotte Wedding Magazine! I love the way that the vintage-rustic necklace is paired with the romantic lace dress. Photographer, Angela Cox, captured the earthy and whimsical feel of the shoot.

Kathryn and Adair!

I had a blast designing jewelry for Kathryn’s wedding party and for the lovely bride, herself! Kathryn chose the classic and unique Jane Garnet Earrings for herself, the Kate Earrings for her ten bridesmaids and the Solitary Necklace for her three precious flower girls.   I just love the way that everything came together so perfectly!  Photographer, Sarah Cramer did an amazing job capturing the excitement and beauty of the day!

Alana and Brad – The Tides Inn

Alana and Brad were married at the end of April at The Tides Inn in Irvington, Virginia. I loved her choice of colors – coral, taupe, and white. Her girls looked gorgeous in the Dakota Earrings.

A perfect day strawberry picking…

I was so happy to receive this photo the other day of my friend, Kara, wearing the Open Circle earrings while she was strawberry picking with her daughter. It’s always fun to see my jewelry in an “action” shot!  Thanks to Sarah Cramer for capturing the moment!

Heather and Harris

Harris proposed, Heather said, “Yes,” they both said, “I do,” and the rest is history!  Heather and Harris were married on a mountaintop in Virginia, and afterward, joined friends and family at a reception that fit Heather’s personality to a tee ! Dani Antol (the other co-owner of Rock Paper Scissors and one of Heather’s best buds) designed all the invitations and I was lucky enough to design Heathers’ custom earrings. Susan Kalergis captured the fabulous-ness of the celebration through her gorgeous photos.

Congrats to Lisa Dabney Burrows and Jeb Burrows who were married  in Cape Cod, MA last summer.  Lisa chose a custom-made pair of gold teardrops with tiny freshwater pearls hand-wrapped around the gold loop for her 10 bridesmaids to wear during the day.

San Diego

I’m back in action, folks! Sorry for the absence of blog posts these past few days, but i’ve been on a little vacay visiting my family in San Diego.  After a few days in the sun, I’m refreshed and ready to get back to work!

Blair & Adam at King Family Vineyards

Blair and Adam had a picture perfect wedding at the UVA Chapel and reception at King Family Vineyards.  Kate Fitzgerald from “I Do Details” did a fantastic job coordinating the event and  photographer, Jack Looney, captured every moment.  The girls wore the Dakota Earrings and matched them with a lovely string of pearls.
