This chunky bracelet is made from gold chain and tortoiseshell resin. The perfect piece to mix and match bangles and such a great staple in your wardrobe.
On my last buying trip to New York, I feel in love with this tortoiseshell resin. I couldn’t wait to get back to my studio and come up with a few new designs to add to my collection. I’m getting excited about these fall pieces for the holiday season and pairing them up with some chunky fall sweaters.
A bride recently came to me with dozens of strands of her grandmother’s jewelry and asked if I would be able to take everything apart and create a unique necklace for her on her wedding day. She wasn’t sure exactly what she had in mind, but she knew that she wanted it to make a statement. I started taking apart the strands of pearls, shells, stones and silver beads and started restringing them in different patterns and lengths. I also painted her grandmother’s bright green broach silver, but left the green center showing. She picked it up yesterday & I was so excited to see her reaction. Her wedding is quickly approaching, so I’ll make sure to blog photos of her on her special day.

I just wanted to send a huge thanks out to all the people involved with Runway for Recovery this year. I was so grateful to be part of this amazing evening. Runway for Recovery creates a stage for friends and family who have battled breast cancer (both survivors and the children of those who have passed). Several retailers and designers (including Erin McDermott Jewelry) set up trunk shows before and after the event with a portion of our proceeds going to help families who have lost their mothers to breast cancer.
Here are a few articles written about the event:

One of my most memorable experiences last year was participating in an event Runway for Recovery in Concord, MA. This organization honors women who have battled, survived and have passed from breast cancer. Olivia Achtmeyer started the event in 2007 after losing her mother to breast cancer. Tonight, survivors will “walk” the runway and be honored for their strength and attitude. I’m so excited that they will be wearing Erin McDermott jewelry and I will also be having a trunk show with a portion of the proceeds helping children who have lost their mothers and providing opportunities for health care providers who care for such patients. Here are a few photos from last year!
Woah…what a whirlwind of a weekend. The trunk show season has officially started and I just returned from Martha’s Market in Charlottesville, VA. Martha’s Market is put on by the Women’s Committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital and over the past 18 years, Martha’s Market has raised over 3 million dollars towards women’s healthcare. I was one of 65 vendors across the US who had the opportunity to participate in this 4 day event. Incredible event with a wonderful team of supporters.
Thankfully, my mom was able to help me with the show and simply put, she was a rock star. She helped with my entire display, bringing curly willow branches, vintage scales and glass bottles, French linens, lamps, burlap, scarves, and other unique display items. I posted a pic. below. We had an amazing time and can’t wait until next year. I’m off to Boston tomorrow morning to participate in Runway for Recovery...can’t wait to tell you all about it when I return!
One of my favorite-all-time-blogs is Young House Love & I was thrilled to be featured for a give-away on it today (enter here.) If you’re the lucky-ducky winner, you’ll get a 100.00 gift certificate from moi or a 100.00 gift certificate from another awesome jewelry line, Towne and Reese. Iwas able to meet up with Jessica Stanfield (one of the co-founders of Towne and Reese) for a cup of joe a while back and loved hearing about her beautiful jewelry line and how she got started in the biz. So…I was super excited to have a give-away together. If you haven’t been following Young House Love...you must add it to your daily reads.
I’m so happy for sweet Adrienne and Matt Allen who were married a few months ago in Maryland. Her color scheme of pink and gold with black accents worked perfectly with the Bridget Earrings. L Hewitt Photography captured the magic of the day.
A very special thanks to Lucy O Photography for capturing these beautiful images of Jodi wearing the Jane Garnet earrings on her wedding day. You can see more photos of Jodi and Michael’s wedding on Lucy O Photo Blog here! I love how delicate these earrings looked with her wedding dress nestled among the soft pinks, peaches, and greens of the bouquets and bridal party.
Congrats to Jess and John Resiner! Jess chose a different pair of earrings for each of her bridesmaids and I loved sitting down with her while she described each friend and how much they meant to her. We chose a special pair of earrings that captured each individual personality and style. Although they are all very different, you can see from the photos, that each pair of earrings work perfectly on each girl. Such a beautiful wedding with an abundance of love and so many special details.
